Join La Polémica for an exciting afternoon of Afro-Cuban percussion, song and dance as part of the University of Leeds International Concert Series.
Bringing together some of the UK’s leading specialists in Afro-Cuban music, La Polémica celebrates the vibrant traditions of Cuban rumba through interlocking percussion rhythms, call-and-response singing and the dynamic relationship between music and dance.
Rooted in Cuba’s African-derived and Spanish musical heritage, rumba is a living, communal tradition that continues to evolve wherever it is performed.
