Instruments are provided for the percussion and batá courses. Classes are kept small to create a focused and supportive learning environment.
Cuban Percussion — Level 1
Tuesdays, 13 October–15 December 2026

Suitable for: Beginners and players returning to the fundamentals.

Cuban Percussion — Level 2
Tuesdays, 13 October–15 December 2026
8.00–9.30 pm
10 weeks
Suitable for: Players who have completed Level 1 or have equivalent experience.

Batá Drumming — Level 2/3
Wednesdays, 14 October–16 December 2026

Suitable for: Experienced percussionists and developing batá players.

Salsa Ensemble
Wednesdays, 14 October–16 December 2026

The course is led by David Pattman, whose performance and recording work includes Snowboy and the Latin Section, Omara Portuondo, Bebo Valdés, Paul McCartney, Jacob Collier, Cubanismo and AfroCubism.
Suitable for: Musicians with enough experience to play within an ensemble.

Coro de Clave
Join Bombo’s Cuban choir and explore the rhythms, harmonies and vocal traditions of Cuban music.

Not sure which course to choose?
Level 1 is intended for beginners and those wanting to establish secure foundations.
Level 2 requires some experience of Afro-Cuban percussion, including basic drum tones, an awareness of clave and the ability to hold a rhythm within an ensemble.
Batá Level 2/3 and Salsa Ensemble are designed for musicians with relevant previous experience.
